Living Word Church of the Nazarene

The first members of the Church of the Nazarene started meeting in 1972 at the Geneva Community Center. They purchased land on SR 46 and built the Church in 1974 while Brother John Peterson was pastor. Some of the first members of the church were Marlene and Elston Bard, Harold and Julie Peck, Cleo and Sarah Voss, Danny Peterson, Delbert and Treva Rucker, and Jerry and Linda Rucker.

Around 1980, under the leadership of Brother Bill Carr, the "Big House" youth center and the parsonage were built on land west of the Church building to fill the Church’s growing youth and pastoral needs.

Ministers who have served the church, in addition to Brothers John Peterson and Bill Carr, were Brothers Albert Green, Jim Holden, Jim Oakley, Reggie Hampton, Gerald Nobles, and Bill Palmer.

Besides their regular Sunday worship services and Wednesday night meetings, the church organizes dinners and yard sales to promote fellowship and help with expenses. They also participate in the annual Geneva Community Easter Sunrise Service.
